Summer by bike

Even in summer, the beautiful cycling routes in South Tyrol invite bike lovers to enjoy a nice ride. Among the most beautiful bike paths in the region there are the "Via Claudia Augusta", which goes from Passo Resia/Reschenpass to Merano/Meran, and the cycling path of the Val Pusteria/Pustertal, which goes from Brunico/Bruneck to Lienz. Mountain bikers, freeriders and downhill enthusiasts also appreciate South Tyrol, where they can enjoy themselves on mountain bike and downhill tracks on the Alpe di Siusi/Seiser Alm, the largest plateau in Europe, on the Plose, in the holiday region of the Three Peaks and in the Val Pusteria/Pustertal.

If you want to escape from the summer heat of Bolzano/Bozen and Merano/Meran, you can go to one of the many swimming pools or lakes in South Tyrol, such as Lake Caldaro or Lake Monticolo. Everywhere in the region you can find outdoor pools or swimming lakes.

Up with the cable car

Alternatively, you can take one of the many cable cars in the region to reach higher altitudes. In Bolzano/Bozen there are three cable cars: the Renon's cable car, the Colle cable car and the San Genesio cable car, which will take you to higher altitudes in just a few minutes. Also in the rest of South Tyrol there are modern lifts that take you to high altitudes, such as the panoramic cable car Monte Tessa in Parcines/Partschins, the cable car Alpe di Siusi/Seiser Alm and the cable cars in Valle Aurina/Tauferer Ahrntal and Plan de Corones/Kronplatz.
