Family holidays
A family holiday in South Tyrol guarantees fun, adventure and unforgettable experiences! In this sun-kissed region, which has so much to discover for young and old alike, families are very welcome!
Wide variety of offers
South Tyrol offers numerous possibilities for excursions in the middle of nature. Whether in the valley or in the mountains, you won't have time to get bored:
- Family hikes in the Dolomites (e.g. Latemarium in Obereggen)
- Adventure parks with high rope courses and summer toboggan runs
- Themed paths and sagas and legend trails, workshops in visitor centres (e.g. Geoparc Bletterbach)
- Castle walks
- Visits to mines and extraordinary natural sites such as the Knottenkino in Verano/Vöran, the Rocky Men on the Monzoccolo/Tschögglberg and the ice holes in Appiano/Eppan.
Summer holidays with children
Summer is a colourful and varied season for young and old alike! A pleasant family hike or a refreshing swim in one of the many beautiful lakes in South Tyrol is a special experience for the whole family. The cycle path (Via Claudia Augusta), which leads from Passo Resia/Reschenpass in Val Venosta/Vinschgau to Merano/Meran, is particularly suitable for families thanks to the numerous playgrounds along the way. In addition, this bike path also passes in front of the Castel Coira in Sluderno/Schluderns, one of the best preserved castles in South Tyrol, which every year in August hosts the traditional Knight's Games.
Snow fun with the hole family
In winter, the family-friendly ski areas in South Tyrol offer a great variety of activities. Many ski resorts also offer skiing and snowboarding courses for children.
A horse-drawn carriage ride through the snowy winter landscape of South Tyrol is an unforgettable experience. And after the carriage ride you can have fun on one of the many ice rinks in the region.
Bad weather tips
South Tyrol is kissed by the sun 300 days a year and even if the weather is not always beautiful, you can undertake alternative activities, such as a visit to the Ötzi Museum in Bolzano or to the Museum of Mining Predoi/Prettau, where with a helmet and a rain jacket you can enter the mine with a train and see where copper was extracted.
A family holiday in South Tyrol is a special experience that guarantees endless fun!
